Wow, it has been a busy week! I don't even feel like I can remember all that has happened, but it has been busy. A lot of work and taking care of kids. Last Saturday night, Garrett and I managed to get away for a couple of hours to go listen to my dad play. He played a concert at BYU with other musicians, and I loved it. I was so grateful to be able to go. I've been telling myself that I need to go and see him perform more often. I really enjoy it when I do. After the concert, we got Cafe Rio and went home.

Grayson was still awake when we got home, so we took him upstairs and got him ready for bed. He wanted to wear one of my t-shirts to bed. He was dancing around in my shirt for a while before he finally came over to me and plopped down in my lap. He looked up at me and said, "Mom, I'm pretty." I agreed with him.

Grayson totally cracked me up today. We were getting ready to take a nap in my bed (he always takes his nap in my bed--he loves it, and I love it too) when he decided that he wanted to sleep with FOUR of his cars. He was very particular about which cars he would sleep with. It made me smile.

And Bella is just so stinkin' cute when she sleeps!

Oh, and I should mention that my mom has officially moved. She is off to Dubai! Well, Abu Dhabi really. She got a job offer from one of their universities to teach there. She has a 3 1/2 year contract with them. I'm a little sad that she is gone, but glad that she will be back in the summer. Only 4 or so months until we will be able to see her. Grayson will miss her, I think. I'm excited for her. I think this will be such a great adventure for her. I hope she loves it!

So last night my sisters Liz and Sarah, and my mom and I had a little girls night. It was a lot of fun. My mom bought all of us Cafe Rio, and we watched Hitch. Love that movie. We had fun laughing and chatting with each other. And yes, I ate my whole Cafe Rio salad. YUM.

This morning, I had plans to get together with my friend Sam and her kids. We got together and traded off watching the kids so that we could both work out. It was really nice! She came and dropped the kids off and went running for 30 minutes, and when she got back I left and ran for 30 minutes also. I took Hank, and we ran around the pond and did a few hard hills. It was nice to run without the kids. I feel like I can push myself harder without them.

Grayson had such a fun time playing with Dillon. He always loves it. And Bella had fun playing with Hazel. Pretty good morning if you ask me!

My Little Sunbeam

Today is Sunday, and Garrett let me sleep in until ten. It was so nice! When I got up, I went out of our bedroom and into Grayson's. Garrett, Grayson and Bella were in there playing. Grayson had some music on (music from an electric keyboard) and was dancing around the room.

I got in the shower to start getting ready for church. I was drying my hair when Grayson came into the bathroom. I looked up at him (my hair was falling in front of my face), and Grayson ran out of the room exclaiming that I was a witch! Garrett was playing along with him and gave Grayson his sword to come get me. We kind of played for a while like that. I would hide and scare him, and he would search for me with his sword. He also hid from me in his tent--Bella joined him. We had fun.

Grayson is officially a sunbeam in primary. I can't believe it! He just barely turned three in December, so he is a young sunbeam. I took a picture of him after church...today was his second week in primary, and it did not go very well.

Sacrament meeting was a little hectic. We have 1 o'clock church now which is right in the middle of nap time. Bella was tired and fussy, and Grayson was just busy. After sacrament meeting, I took Grayson to the bathroom (he wore underwear to church), and he peed AND pooped! I was feeling good about things because I wasn't nervous about him having an accident in primary.

I play the piano in primary, and it has made it hard for Grayson to sit with his class. We got to primary, and he refused to sit with his class. He came and sat with me at the piano. We got through the opening exercises just fine. Right in the middle of singing time, I started smelling something stinky. Grayson pooped his pants. I had someone else come play for me, and we went into the bathroom. I had to strip down his pants and clean him up as best I could because I couldn't just leave at that point. I should have just put him in a diaper before church...

We went back into primary, and I tried one more time to get him to sit with his class. He wouldn't. When it was time for the sunbeams to leave, I had to go with Grayson into his class. Unfortunately he was the only sunbeam there today, so that didn't help. His teachers talked to him for a minute about various things (Lightening McQueen, Toy Story, fire trucks, etc.) and gave him a treat. Since he was the only sunbeam there we thought it would just be better for him to go into nursery. I tried to take him into nursery and he threw a fit. Basically I had Grayson with me the whole time. I wouldn't mind it so much except that it's kind of hard with my calling. I just hope that it gets better. It gets better right?

Anyway, that's basically how primary is going.

Honey Bee

Tuesday was a pretty insignificant day. We got up and had breakfast, and Grayson watched Toy Story and played with Hank. Poor Hank takes a beating from Grayson all the time. I think Grayson loves having the playmate around. He loves to chase him out in the yard and tackle him. It makes me a little nervous that Hank will snap at him, but so far he has been really good about it. I guess it is good...it exercises both of them.

I had us all lay down for a nap a little earlier than usual. I worked Monday night and hadn't slept at all when I got home, and I was exhausted. Usually the kids go down for a nap around at around one in the afternoon. I couldn't make it that far though. It hit eleven, and I was really needing some kind of sleep! We took a good two hour nap. When we woke up, I saw a text from Garrett saying his dad wanted to come and get Grayson for the afternoon. I was so grateful! SO grateful! Since Grayson had already napped, he wouldn't take another for the rest of the day. But Bella would.

Chad came and got Grayson, and I had to wait another hour and a half before we could lay down again. I was in the kitchen with Bella getting her something to eat with the radio on. Blake Shelton's song "Honey Bee" came on. I love that song! I got Bella out of her chair and we danced. Loved that moment. It's nice every once in a while to get some alone time with one child or the other.

Bella was super smiley and giggly, so I snapped some shots of her. Seriously can't get enough of the little thing.

We took a nap, and Bella thankfully slept for another two hours. We woke up kind of late, around five. We got up, and I got dinner ready. Garrett and Grayson got home, and we ate and got kids ready for bed.

I can't even remember what we did that night. Probably went straight to bed. I was exhausted. Just another day at our house.

One extra little tidbit: It kind of cracked me up the other day... I was driving with the kids in the car to a friends house. We passed a house that had a big sleigh in the front yard with a blown up Santa in it. The Santa had deflated a little bit and was basically lying down in the sleigh. Grayson noticed this and piped up from the back seat, "MOM!, Santa's dead!" It made me giggle.

New Year, New Blogging Goals!

I have made it one of my goals for year 2012 to start blogging more (at least 3 times a week!). I always think about how I need to write about the little things that are happening in my life and the life of my children, and I think that blogging is the easiest way for me to do it. SO, this will probably be more for me than anyone else, but I hope anyone who reads will also enjoy.

Grayson is keeping us busy. He is so full of energy! He loves to read, play with tools, loves trains, loves movies and loves to be rowdy with his dad. His new favorite activity is to play with the new member of our family--see below! We bought him Toy Story last night and he is loving it! We watched it together this morning while he was geared up in his cowboy hat and all. Cute little guy.

Grayson has also began potty training. Ugh. I'm not lovin' it. He actually goes #1 very well! He hasn't had many accidents. #2, on the other hand, has not been so easy. He has an accident almost daily. We've only been at it a few days though, so hopefully it will only continue to get better (crossing my fingers!).

Bella is getting so big. It's hard for me to believe that she will be one year old in just a few short weeks. That girl has got me wrapped around her finger. I just love her so much. She is starting to talk up a storm, and it is one of my favorite things! Nothing like listening to little baby talk. So cute. She is also starting to get possessive of her toys and different items she plays with. I always know when Grayson has taken something from her. You can hear her throughout the whole house. She loves her binky and blanky and loves to snuggle. One more thing, the girl LOVES to eat. Generally, she eats twice as much as Grayson. I'm not sure how she manages to stay so small.

We went ice skating last week with the family, and Garrett snapped some pretty adorable shots of her.

Pretty cute.

As to the new member of the family. We got a dog. I still can't believe I said yes to a dog! His name is Hank, and he is a labradoodle (part lab, part poodle). Although I'm not a pet person, I am pretty pleased with him. He is very smart, sheds very minimally and is pretty well tempered with the kids. He has learned to sit, come, kennel and nibble his treats out of your hand. He's cute, but he is BIG already--especially for being only 3 months old. Kind of freaks me out. He is going to be a big boy!

As for me, I'm still working full time nights as a labor and delivery nurse. LOVE my job, but don't love being tired pretty much all of the time. I work 12 hour shifts from 1800-0600. I get home and Garrett leaves to work, so I'm up with the kids all day. Definitely not my choice of schedule, but I guess it's what works best for our family.

Garrett is working on the tree crew for Provo City. He likes it okay but we are both hoping that something better will come along soon. He spends his spare time with me and the kids, hunting and woodworking. You should see his stuff...I'm a little proud of him :).
