Anyone there?

This past week has been difficult. It has been the first time in my life that I have felt all alone. I know I have wonderful friends and wonderful family, but I've found myself in a circumstance that no one but my Heavenly Father can resolve. I've never felt so dependent on Heavenly Father to lead the way. For the first time I feel lost, blinded, confused, angry, hurt... and the list goes on. Good thing I have so many things to be grateful for. How would we get through life without the gospel???

Team Swingers

I'm getting kind of addicted to this blogging thing. Here I go writing again. I thought it was about time to introduce Team Swingers (aka Team Table II). The original Team Table was created two semesters ago. It's members included: Jed Leifson, Alan Pannier, Katie Connor and myself. We met in our physiology class at Westminster. We happened to sit at the same table together on the first day. The beginning was rough--Katie and I were a little upset that they joined the table, but eventually we all began talking and became friends quite instantly. We had multiple study sessions that usually ended up in hot tubbing, movies or other such activities. Basically our weekends were set together. This is a picture of the original Team Table:

We had many good times together. This August, however, Alan left us to go on a mission to Argentina. This left Katie, Jed and I as a threesome. Thankfully we found a replacement. Spencer replaced Alan and helped us create Team Table II (aka Team Swingers--Spence thinks that he is part of a new era and therefore the name should be changed). The wonderful thing about TT2 is that we are all in the nursing program together, so we have many opportunities to be together at school. Not only are we together in school, but we spend as much time out of school as possible. The original team members have decided that this team is more functional than the last. It was established tonight that we are a family. Spence and I are the parents and Kate and Jed are the children. Our last name is Swinger. Starla acts as Kate, Spence as Noel, Christa as Lavina Rosecrest and Jed is something... The point is we love to be together and this is my family away from home. Today we went shopping for scrubs and found what we were looking for. After shopping, we stopped by Costco and ended up staying there for about two hours--we basically picked up on lunch there. Tonight we went to Desert Star. It is a playhouse in Murray. It was really fun. We had a good time. Here are some pictures of TT2:

Reflections...

On Saturday night I was down in Spanish Fork with Spencer and Jed. Spence and I went down there to visit Jed as he was watching his brother while his parents were out of town. We all went to dinner and watched a movie--it was really fun. All during the night I was thinking about how blessed I have been with such good friends. That seems to be a common thought occupying my mind lately. When Spence and I were driving back up to Salt Lake at the end of the night the music was loud, and we were both in and out of singing with the songs. During the moments I wasn't singing or talking to Spence, I was looking out of the window and reflecting on my life in the past year and how much it has changed. A year ago today I was still unhappy about living in Salt Lake, I hadn't found my group of friends yet and I felt very alone. I feel so blessed because now I wouldn't change my situation. I LOVE where I am. I have grown so much. The friends that I have gained mean so much to me and they have taught me a lot about who I am. I have also learned a lot about my worth as a daughter of God. I have come to realize how important each and every one of us are in the eyes of our Creator. It's been incredible to me as I have looked back on my life and realized that every choice I have made has gotten me to where I am now. This seems really obvious, but it really hit home to me that my choices today affect my future. I feel like I'm rambling on and not really connecting ideas or thoughts here, but it makes sense to me. Basically I felt so much gratitude for my life, my family, my friends and the experiences I have been able to have the past year with people who mean everything to me. And that is pretty much it--
