Coming Home

I've come home for the weekend. I love it. Even though I live only 40 miles away I miss home. Nothing is the same where I am at. I live in Salt Lake now. I recently moved up there to go to Westminster College. I love the school and everything it has to offer me, but like I said before...I miss home. Last weekend I went back up to Salt Lake on Saturday night. By Sunday afternoon I was dreaming about the coming Thursday (tonight) when I could come home again. Tonight my dad came and got me. I was so glad to see him. I got in the car and we had a nice chat on the way home. I told him a lot of my frustrations and about everything that has been hard for me to accept about being away...or some of the differences that I have had to get used to. It was nice to talk to him. When we got home, I stepped out of the car to the familiar smell of my neighborhood. This is perhaps one of my favorite things about home. Nowhere else smells like home. The neighborhood has a certain smell about it at this time of year...I love it. It floods my thoughts of memories of when I was younger and the many things that my neighborhood provided me...I love this place. It holds a special place in my heart. Let me just say that I am so grateful to have been raised in such a wonderful place. The best place on earth.
I have one tidbit of good news. I had two mid-term exams this week and I aced both of them!!! YES!!!! I got 100% on my anatomy exam and a 97% on my sociology exam. I have to admit the week was full, full, full of studying, but it all paid off! Now it's even better that I can be home and have a chance to finally RELAX!!!

Yes, I love the feeling/smells etc. of home. There's something warm and loving about it---almost as if the sounds and smells and places and people of this little earth in Provo have loved me, too. I do feel a sense of belonging here. And, BTW, I love it when you come home, too.
